Fight ends with 1 dead and another arrested, LVMPD says
Suspect identified in deadly battery incident in Las Vegas.
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A fight between two men in downtown Las Vegas ended with one dead and another arrested Thursday night, LVMPD says.
Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said dispatch received a call at 6:15 p.m. about a man battered near Main Street and Bridger Avenue.
Officers and medical personnel arrived at the scene and provided life-saving measures.
However, the victim, described as a Black man in his 60s, died at the hospital.

Detectives learned that a suspect, identified as 52-year-old Paul Campillo, approached the victim in an alleyway.
After a brief conversation, the victim tried to walk away, at which point Campillo began to attack and batter the victim. Campillo then fled the area before police arrived.
Police said following an area search, officers located Campillo and took him into custody.
He has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of Open Murder.
Rodriguez said homicide detectives believe both men were homeless.
