LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada motorists planning a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles will need to schedule around a temporary statewide service shutdown next week.

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles announced that all driver’s license and identification card services will be unavailable starting Nov. 6 through 4 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Agency officials stated the three-day suspension is required to complete ongoing technology modernization efforts across its computer systems.

During the service freeze, residents will not be able to renew, replace, or obtain new driver’s licenses or state-issued IDs, whether online or in person at DMV offices.

DMV officials urge drivers whose credentials expire soon to handle transactions before the downtime or plan visits after operations resume at 4 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Customers with questions can contact the agency directly through its social media channels or official customer service lines.
