LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Surveillance video outside the Bonneville Transit Bus Station caught the moment a teen opened fire, injuring two others, before being shot himself earlier this month, according to an arrest report.

Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the Bonneville Transit Bus Station, near Main Street, on Sunday, Oct. 25, around 6:49 p.m. after receiving reports that three people were injured by gunfire.

According to the report, the victims were identified as Joe Campbell, and RTC security guard Wesley Lowe, who were both shot by 17-year-old Amari Heath.

Police reviewed surveillance footage of the bus station’s parking lot, where Campbell and Heath could be seen arguing inside the station, which then continued in the parking lot.

At one point, Heath could be seen pulling out a firearm and firing several shots toward Campbell, hitting him multiple times, according to the report.

Several armed security guards were also present at the bus station at the time of the shooting, the report noted. One of the guards — later identified as Lowe — was mistakenly struck by gunfire from Amari and sustained a gunshot wound to his ankle.

A second security guard later told police he observed the shooting, and fired his weapon at Amari in response, striking him several times.

All three were transported to UMC hospital, police say.

Police spoke with multiple security guards who were present during the shooting, one of which mentioned that she knew of multiple recent incidents involving juveniles carrying firearms in the area.

The guard also said she knew of another officer who recently had their firearm stolen from their duty belt and was later shot with it.

Joe Campbell’s wife was also interviewed by police and stated that three black males wearing hoodies were staring at her husband “in a confrontational manner,” according to the report.

Campbell’s wife told police that one of the males then approached the couple and began asking, “Do I know you?” The other men also approached and began asking where Campbell was from.

According to the report, Campbell wife said they attempted to walk away from the men but were followed into the parking lot. She claimed the men said they were “from west-coast gang”.

Campbell’s wife told police one of the man then pulled out a firearm and began shooting at the couple, which they immediately tried to flee from.

Police also attempted to interview Heath while he was receiving treatment in the hospital, but he refused and was placed under arrest.

Health is facing charged of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and battery on a protected person.

He is due back in court on Monday, Nov. 2.
