AAA Nevada data shows gas prices falling
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - New data from AAA Nevada shows gas prices in the state of Nevada continue to fall.
They say the average cost of a gallon of gas in the Silver State has dropped nine cents in the last week and is now $5.33 as of Oct. 22.
AAA Nevada says the drop is fueled by the transition to winter-blend gasoline, which is cheaper to produce and costs less for consumers.
They say high crude oil prices are preventing steep declines at the pump.
“While gas prices continue to fall at the pump, this month is poised to set a record as the most expensive October ever for gas prices,” said Doug Johnson, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group. “It follows similar records set in August and September of this year.”
The average cost of a gallon of gas in Reno is now $5.52 and $5.38 in Las Vegas.
