Albemarle County Police Department offers 24/7 safe exchange spaces

A community giveback held Saturday gave away free items for the community in time for the holiday season.

This year the drive gave out 300 turkeys, alongside extra donated by additional drives, for Charlottesville families’ Thanksgiving dinner tables.

Volunteers and teen team members began the day with a planting lesson before spreading through Woolen Mills, Fifeville, and surrounding blocks.

A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital following a crash in the Loris area.

The law requires drivers to yield the right of way and slow down for any vehicles stopped on the side of the road with hazard lights or emergency signals.
