Vegas Golden Knights announce ECHL affiliation with Fort Wayne Komets


The Vegas Golden Knights announced they signed William Karlsson, who plays as a forward, to a one-year contract for the 2018-19 hockey season.

Karlsson, 25, has lead the team with 43 goals and 78 points during his career with the Golden Knights, according to Knights General Manager George McPhee. Karlsson also won the Lady Byng Award, an honor given to players who have shown the best type of sportsmanship and "gentlemanly conduct" combined with a high quality of playing ability.

According to the Golden Knights, Karlsson made his 100th career point on Feb. 15 and has made a total of 128 career points in his four seasons of playing in the National Hockey League.

McPhee said Karlsson's contract was worth $5,250,000.
