They’re coming to get you, Barbara,” as Johnny said in "Night of the Living Dead."

Not really, but "zombies" will take over a few Henderson roads on October 20. The Zombie Run 5K will kick off Halloween celebrations at Cornerstone Park. Hundreds are expected to participate by dressing up in their un-dead best.

The 3.1-mile run, entering its fifth year, will start at 6 p.m. at Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Parkway. It's family-friendly and open to people of all abilities and fitness levels. The run is open to participants 5 years and older.

Registration costs $25 per person through Sept. 20, $35 from then until Oct. 19 and $40 day-of. The first 300 registered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

According to a press release, the Zombie Run 5K is part of the City of Henderson's Healthy Henderson initiative. The fitness, health and wellness program rewards members who participate in fitness-related classes, workshops and events such as the city's 5K runs, or work out at city recreation centers.
