ORTONVILLE, Mich. (Meredith/WNEM) - Jaw-dropping video shows the moment a truck crashed into a Michigan gas station.

Police said the pickup truck plowed into the gas station at a high rate of speed early Friday morning in Ortonville. Two people were standing just feet away from the crash.

Surveillance video shows the truck come to a stop in the middle of the store after it pummeled several aisles of candy and booze. The driver then exits the vehicle, rips off the license plate and walks out of the store as if nothing happened.

Police caught up with the 24-year-old driver about 13 hours later at his home.

William Edmonds is now facing multiple charges, including reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash.

Police said he told them he got new tires and wanted to speed around the pumps when he lost control.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.
