(Meredith/KDKA/CNN) -- A Pennsylvania mother shared a chilling video that shows an intruder climbing through her daughters' bedroom window as the girls were sleeping.

The mom, who asked to remain anonymous, told KDKA the incident happened early Monday morning at her apartment in Rochester.

“It scares me. The fact that my kids could have been kidnapped, killed, taken from me,” she told the news outlet.

Security footage shows the suspect moving a fan from the girls' bedroom window. He then reaches over and turns off a lamp. Seconds later, he climbs through the window, and the surveillance video stops.

The mom said she knew something was wrong when she woke up.

“I walked into the girls’ room," she said. "Their light was out. The lamp was out. It was all unplugged...and the window was wide open,” she said.

The suspect allegedly stole an iPhone before leaving.

After the mom and her fiancé saw the security video, they took action.

“We have extra locks now. The security system is up. We are upgrading everything,” she said.

The Rochester Borough Police Department is investigating.
