A leading beauty retailer officially broke ground on the location of their future warehouse in North Las Vegas.
Sephora will soon occupy 714,000-square-feet of space in the Tropical Distribution Center near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The company said the new facility will serve as a fulfillment and distribution center for retail locations and e-commerce with direct shipping to consumers.
"Sephora is the latest quality e-commerce company to select the North Las Vegas market," said Steve Backman, vice president of development at VanTrust. "Companies like Sephora are locating here because of the strong labor force and proximity to the large populations in Nevada and surrounding states. The city's leadership and staff have done an outstanding job in helping attract these companies by working through complex entitlement and permitting issues to ensure safe and timely delivery of these technologically advanced facilities."
The facility will feature 694,000 square feet equipped with the company's state-of-the-art automation and robotic systems. An additional 20,000 square feet will house the company's single-story office designed to reflect Sephora's luxury image with high-end finishes and amenities for employees including spacious common areas and outdoor seating, according to a release.
As company officials broke ground on the facility, North Las Vegas Mayor declared July 12 as 'Sephora Day.'
Sephora said it plans to fill up to 400 employment positions with Nevada workers. The company will also partner with workforce centers to find qualified employees who may be disabled or veterans, a release said.
The facility is expected to complete construction in May 2019.
