LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Police said a 42-year-old man was taken to University Medical Center on Tuesday after a crash in the south valley.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 between a 2006 Freightliner box truck and a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle at Decatur Boulevard and Post Road, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

In a statement, police said the truck was making a left turn from Decatur to go westbound on Post when the motorcyclist rode through a red light into the intersection. The front of the motorcycle hit the right front of the truck.

The driver of the truck, a 30-year-old man, stayed on scene and was not suspected of impairment, police said.

The intersection was closed while Metro police investigated.
