LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Las Vegas police said they were investigating a homicide in the west valley on Tuesday afternoon.
About 2 p.m. on November 17, Lt. Ray Spencer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the investigation was taking place at 5550 W. Charleston Boulevard, at Lindell Road.
A spokesman for the department said there was a fatal shooting at a car wash.
At the scene, Spencer said multiple shots were fired in the area and arriving officers found a man in his 40s with gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was vacuuming his car with his wife and entered his car on the driver's side. Spencer said an unknown vehicle pulled up, fired, and drove off.
Police were interviewing about a dozen witnesses and canvassing for surveillance. They believe the victim and suspect are known to each other and the shooting was not random.
The man's wife was not injured, Spencer said.
