LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said two people were shot, one fatally, at a house party in the east valley on Saturday morning.
The investigation started about 3 a.m. on August 1 on Ruby Creek Drive, near Sahara Avenue and Sloan Lane.
Police later said they were responding to a shooting at a house party. When officers arrived, they found a man in the doorway of the house with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.
Four minutes before police arrived, people were leaving the house which was rented out for a party, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. As they left, there was an exchange of gunfire, hitting the victim.
Detectives later found out a second man from the party took himself to University Medical Center with a gunshot wound. He was hospitalized but stable.
The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Ashton Price, 23.
Police said the shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
