LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Las Vegas police responded twice to 911 calls from Republican congressional candidate Dan Rodimer’s now-wife in 2018 alleging domestic violence and that Rodimer had stolen guns and jewelry belonging to her, according to police records.

In neither case did police arrest or detain Rodimer. No charges were filed. In the initial incident July 20, 2018, police wrote “there was no crime, just a verbal argument and we did not want to embarrass them or make them any more upset.”

The second incident occurred on Nov. 30 of the same year. Rodimer’s then-girlfriend, Sarah Duffy, called 911 saying Rodimer took $200,000 in cash, jewelry and guns from their house before leaving five days earlier, later sending her photographs of what he took. Duffy said she thought Rodimer had spent the days since then at a casino, but police couldn’t find him there.

“I advised (Duffy) to give a 1 week ‘cooling period’ to see if male returns home and they can resolve this matter without police involvement as this is largely a civil matter,” the responding officer wrote. He listed the stolen goods as $20,000, a Rolex watch, an engagement ring from a former relationship and two handguns.

On the 911 call, Duffy can be heard sorting through several objects trying to determine which guns were missing. “There are so many in here, I’m trying to see,” she tells the 911 operator.

“Dan and his wife have five kids and like every couple, they have had some verbal disputes over the years. They are happily married with a new baby on the way,” Rodimer’s campaign manager, Alex Melendez, said in a statement.

Melendez added that Rodimer and Duffy went to dinner after the police left following the first call. In the second incident, Melendez said “no items ever left the residence. Some items were moved to another location in the house and the firearms remained locked in a safe.”

The 2018 calls aren’t Rodimer’s only brushes with law enforcement. A former WWE wrestler who was known as “Big Dan” Rodman, he was accused of assault in three incidents in Florida from 2010 to 2013. In one case Rodimer pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge for a 2010 confrontation at a Waffle House and completed a six-week anger management course in exchange for the charge being dropped.

Records also show that in 2006 a neighbor called police to the wrestler’s apartment in Dunedin. Rodimer and his girlfriend were arguing loudly over another man having called the girlfriend. Both Rodimer and his girlfriend told police the argument escalated and got loud but nothing physical occurred.

Rodimer is challenging Democratic Rep. Susie Lee in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, a swing area that stretches from southwest Las Vegas through Henderson, Boulder City and rural areas to the California border. Rodimer ran as a populist candidate in a three-way Republican primary to secure the nomination to face Lee in November.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Molly Forgey released the following statement:

There are many troubling aspects of Dan Rodimer’s past that should make Nevadans seriously question his ability to represent their families in Congress--but this latest report is at best disqualifying. The hardworking families of Congressional District 3 deserve a leader who they can trust to protect their loved ones. From pushing to reopen schools without a real plan to do so safely, to a long history of violent allegations, to a sketchy business past, to hiding his finances from voters--dangerous Dan Rodimer has proven he is not that leader.

Obviously Waffle House food was bad and had something to say about burnt bacon and it escalated into an altercation. Heartburn later followed. Then the police were called to the scene of the burnt bacon.

You guys are HILARIOUS! Gads, you right-winger's are amazing! The story is about a crazy 'ex-wrestler' ;) who is running for A REPUBLICAN OFFICE.... a guy who has had some 'domestic issues' here & some obvious LEGAL PROBLEMS elsewhere

*(Florida; go figure!) yet, you comment with some goofball nonsense about Democrats. Man, that is some NUTTY, NUTTY transference you've got going on...but, that is a 'R' party trademark; whatever you're accused of, point the other direction and accuse the other side of doing the same thing or worse! Keep up the good work! During the Covid crisis, we need all the humor we can get! :)

Nevermore

Hey, having a good sense of humor is what gets you through life. And the Dems certainly have a sense of humor since they can't find anybody better to run for president than a man with dementia. Whoever they pick as a running mate will have just as much baggage. A screenwriter couldn't even write a coherent script for this scenario. But keep laughing.....

Well, well not hard to find out why they are trying to ruin this guy.

A trust belonging to Nevada Rep. Susie Lee and her husband, Full House Resorts CEO Dan Lee, made several favorable stock trades as Congress underwent early briefings on the coronavirus pandemic.

An ethics watchdog is requesting that Congress investigate Democratic Rep. Susie Lee after accusing her of a conflict of interest in asking the Small Business Administration (SBA) to expand its coronavirus loan eligibility in a way that they say benefited her husband's business.

Just weeks after Lee's reported request, SBA changed its criteria on April 28 to include the gaming industry. Two weeks later, Full House Resorts, of which both Lee and her husband own millions of dollars in stock and options, received a total of $5.6 million in loans -- a conflict of interest, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust argued in a complaint it will file on Friday.

Well, so again these are games the Democrats are going to play, ruin a family for political gain. Both sides can play these games and Molly and Susie started this BS. You better hope there are no secrets or family issue you don’t want brought out. Politicians and their lobbyists are the lowest form of life. Time to find out how Ms. Lee has profited from her time in the house. Also how her family has profited. It’s a shame the party I supported for years as a union tradesperson is now the party of rioters, thieves and corruption. Vote all incumbents out ! Not sure if this guy is the right person for the job but I know that incumbent politicians are not the right choice. Term limits. One and done !
