LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash in the east Las Vegas Valley Wednesday morning.
LVMPD Lt. David Gordon said the crash happened just before 5:45 a.m. June 23 at Tropicana Avenue and Nellis Boulevard. LVMPD said a GMC work truck was stopped facing westbound on Tropicana at a red light when a Hyundai Elantra rear-ended the GMC.
Gordon said the driver of the Hyundai, a 33-year-old woman, suffered a head injury and was taken to an area hospital. Gordon said the injuries were life-threatening.
LVMPD said impairment was suspected on the part of the Hyundai driver. The driver of the GMC stayed on scene and was not injured.

LVMPD shut down the entire intersection for investigation.
