LAS VEGAS — (September 19, 2019) —

Lobster Fair, returns for its 49th year on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Fresh Maine lobsters are the focus and may be pre-ordered for pickup during the fair. Live lobsters cost $18 and steamed lobsters cost $20 when pre-ordered or $20 and $22 the day of the fair. Orders may be placed online at www.lobsterfair.com until Friday, October 18, 2019 at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time.

Lobster Fair is held in the Hunt Memorial Patio, which is a picturesque courtyard at the center of the churchs complex at 2000 S. Maryland Parkway. The location is south of St. Louis Avenue and a few blocks north of E. Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas. Overflow parking is available at the adjacent Fremont Middle School.

Fair admission is free, as is parking. No purchase is required, though visitors are usually happy to exchange their cash for a variety of delicious home-made foods and other goods found at the Fair, such as seafood gumbo, clam chowder, turkey dinners, Mexican food, snacks, baked goods, beer, wine and other beverages.

Continuous entertainment is provided and attractions include a silent auction, childrens activities and a raffle. Items for sale include arts and crafts, religious items, used books and more.

According to Lobster Fair Chairman Elana T. Graham, free flu shots will be available at the fair again this year, provided by Walgreens.

Shoppers can also find great bargains the day of the fair at Treasure House, the churchs adjacent thrift store. Thrift store sales benefit Epicenter on the Parkway, the churchs neighborhood food bank, which serves thousands of hungry Las Vegans each month.

The unique New England-themed fair in the Nevada desert began as a benefit for Christ Church's Debt Retirement and Restoration Fund. Since then, proceeds from the event have been put to a variety of uses, sometimes funding the churchs community service programs and sometimes being applied to restoration projects on the churchs Spanish mission-style facility, completed in 1961 and now over a half-century old.
