MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WISN/CNN) - Disturbing surveillance footage shows a baby being thrown from a car seat during a fight at a Milwaukee gas station.

In the video, a woman can be seen carrying her 10-month-old daughter in a car seat while walking with a man into a BP gas station on June 14.

They all went into the bathroom to change the baby’s diaper. When they came out, the video appears to shows the man putting his arms around the woman, causing her to fall to the ground as she held onto her baby's carrier.

Police said the man, identified as Ronald Ziedman Jr., then yanked the car seat, sending the baby flying out onto the concrete.

Ziedman put the baby in the car before going back inside the gas station, where the video showed him continuing to attack the woman.

She told police at one point "she lost consciousness as a result of the punching," according to court documents.

Prosecutors said the suspect, who was allegedly intoxicated, eventually drove off with the baby and went to the Potawatomi Casino. A security guard spotted them and called police. When officers arrived, they said Ziedman failed a field sobriety test.

Ziedman was later charged with his second OWI. He also faces several felonies, including child abduction, substantial battery and false imprisonment. If convicted, he could spend more than 50 years in prison.

According to a criminal complaint, the woman told police she had only known Ziedman for a couple of days and had been staying at his mother's house.

Police said the woman suffered swelling and bruising to her face, as a result of the attack. Her daughter also sustained bruising to her ribs and arm. Both are recovering.

This woman took up with this man after knowing him only two days? Maybe this innocent child should be taken from her!
