Airbnb activates anti-party technology in Las Vegas for Halloween
Short-term rental platform deploys booking defenses across Las Vegas to curb disruptive holiday gatherings
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Airbnb is activating its heightened anti-party technology across the United States this Halloween, including in Las Vegas, to help reduce the risk of disruptive gatherings over the holiday weekend.
Company officials said the system aims to identify higher-risk booking attempts and enforce the platform’s year-round ban on disruptive parties.
During Halloween weekend last year, the defensive measures helped deter approximately 40 people in Las Vegas from booking an entire home through the platform, according to company data.

Airbnb officials emphasized that parties remain extremely rare on the platform. Across Nevada last year, only 0.07% of reservations resulted in a report of a party to Airbnb.
Company officials added that the defenses are important to local hosts and neighborhoods in Las Vegas to help support positive, safe stays.
Guests whose reservations are flagged and redirected by the anti-party system are not barred from using the platform entirely. The system allows users to book alternative lodging accommodations on Airbnb, including private rooms and hotel listings.
