Couple had ‘premeditated plans’ to kill 4 children together in murder-suicide, officials say

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH/Gray News) - A recently released report from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation sheds new light on a murder-suicide that left six family members, including four children, dead earlier this week.

Agents with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation do not believe an argument or physical altercation preceded the homicides on the morning of Aug. 11.

Instead, evidence indicates that 53-year-old Ronald Williams Sr. and 44-year-old Kelly George shared “premeditated plans” to kill their four children together, then themselves.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation did not specify what evidence led agents to believe George was involved in the plan.

During the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s probe, documentation was found indicating George had purchased a Taurus .38 Special revolver in February 2025.

That gun was found at the scene.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said, at this time, no evidence suggests anyone in addition to Williams and George was responsible for the deaths.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation also said it was reported that Williams and George displayed erratic behavior leading up to the shootings, “including a pattern of nonsensical statements to law enforcement, neighbors and others in the community.”

The investigation is ongoing. The KBI said it will present a complete report to the Cowley County Attorney’s Office when the investigation concludes.
