LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police say a 43-year-old man is in critical condition after a crash early Friday morning.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the crash happened just after 5 a.m. at Twain Avenue and Kolendo Court, near Decatur Boulevard. Police said a BMW crashed into an apartment building.

Police said the driver lost control and drove off-road into the complex, hitting a Chevrolet Tahoe and HHR. When the Tahoe moved, police said it struck a nearby pedestrian at the northeast corner of the intersection.

Police said the driver ran eastbound from the scene, and the passenger stayed. The passenger was identified as a 27-year-old woman from Las Vegas, and she claimed “minor” injuries. The driver of the BMW remains unidentified.

Police told FOX5 earlier Friday morning that a man was driving the BMW and got into an argument with the passenger before crashing into several vehicles and the wall of a two-story apartment.

Arriving officers found the pedestrian on the sidewalk suffering from what appeared to be moderate injuries to his arms and face, and transported him to UMC. While treating his condition, police say medical crews determined his injuries were life-threatening.

FOX5 crews at the scene observed significant damage to the exterior of the two-story apartment building and multiple parked cars.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
