Las Vegas police searching for possible victims in child sex assault case

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Police are looking for anyone who believes they may be a victim of a man accused of sexually assaulting a child, authorities said.

According to a news release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers were contacted July 21 about a 9-year-old child who was “inappropriately touched” by a family friend. Police identified the suspect as Thomas Dodd, 74.

Investigators said Dodd met the child and the child’s family through a local church. On July 9, police said Dodd invited the child to his home to watch movies. During the movie, police said, the sexual assault occurred.

Dodd was arrested Thursday and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He faces four counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 14.

Police believe Dodd may have additional victims.
