Meet Maxx, the 3-legged Doberman from Las Vegas appearing in Puppy Bowl

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Meet Maxx! He’s a three-legged Doberman puppy from Las Vegas.

The Nevada SPCA says he arrived at the shelter at two months old. He had a malformed leg that the veterinary team amputated.

“This spirited young puppy has adjusted very well to life as a tripod and will be representing Las Vegas on Team Ruff,” the shelter said.

The Puppy Bowl XXI returns Sunday, Feb. 9 as the call-to-adopt event. Officials say it will feature 142 rescue puppies from 80 shelters across 40 stays and two countries.

“We’re so proud of Maxx, not only for his amazing performance as one of the best athletes in the Puppy Bowl despite his disability, but especially for how Maxx has tackled life in general. Nothing slows Maxx down. He’s faster than most dogs with 4 legs!” said Nevada SPCA Executive Director, Lori Heeren.
