LVMPD: 1 dead, 1 injured in shooting at apartment complex near Bonanza, Lamb

The deceased has been identified as Darrion Walker, 30, of North Las Vegas. His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A man is dead and another is recovering in the hospital after a shooting in northeast Las Vegas just after 7:30 Friday evening.

Las Vegas police told FOX5 it happened at the Agave Ridge Apartment Homes in the 4500 block of East Bonanza Road.

Police first received a shot spotter alert which indicates gunshots, Metro Lt. Jason Johansson said in a briefing.

Dispatchers received additional 911 calls regarding the same gunshots heard by the alert system.

Officers were able to locate the apartment unit where they found two men in their 20s and 30s suffering from gunshot wounds, Johansson explained.

Medical personnel transported both victims to the hospital.

One man has died from his injuries while the other is in stable condition, according to LVMPD.

Johansson said a man wearing a red shirt was described as the suspect who is on the run at this time.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting.
