Desert Inn was closed in all directions while the crash was investigated by police.
Police said residents were evacuated so crews to could safely remove the vehicle. Marco Reyes, a resident who lives in an apartment right next to the building, says safety has been a concern for the neighborhood.
“This is a recurring thing, everybody in this complex is scared to walk down the road at night, daytime, because you don’t know if you are going to get hit,” Reyes said.
He said speeders are a constant problem and a similar incident even happened nearby.
“They took out the neighbor’s walls,” he said.
He’s hoping city leaders will do something to make the area safer.
