THE RANT

TOPIC: Nevada Federal Credit Union

NAME: Karli

RANT: I have been a member of Nevada Federal Credit Union for about eight years now. I am only 30, so that is a relatively long time. Four months ago they just "decided" to start charging me a maintenance fee of $5 per month. They did not notify me or ask permission. They just took the money. So my question is, why is it that if an individual takes money from my account without permission that is stealing, but if a corporation decides to take $5 a month without prior consent that is perfectly acceptable? And if $5 is acceptable, what is to say that $10, $20 or $100 is not going to be acceptable in the future? Is our money safe from the institutions we trust to manage it? Something about this rubs me the wrong way. I will be closing my account with Nevada Federal.

TOPIC: Grading President Barack Obama

NAME: Carol

RANT: You people have a lot of nerve grading a man who has been president for less than nine months. How dare you think that he should be graded at all before one year has passed and shame on you for having the survey on your web page! It seems that no matter what he does/tries to do it is not fast enough for all of you. It took longer than nine months to get us into this mess and you all need to draw back your claws. I have never seen a president be so clearly disrespected as Obama. The rest of the world is right -- Americans are ugly!

TOPIC: Veterinary Pet Care

NAME: Robert

RANT: Your story last night on emergency care and veterinary pet insurance was interesting and informative. But what you forgot to mention is that there are two other facilities in Las Vegas that provide emergency care to pets, one at 2500 West Warm Springs Rd. and one at Pecos and Patrick. In fact, the one on Warm Springs has lower prices than the other two and might be better for people with financial problems.

TOPIC: Asking For ID

NAME: Anonymous

RANT: In response to the man over 50 who gets asked for ID at Terrible’s for cigarettes, it's customers like you that make our job a lot harder than it has to be! I am an ex-employee of Terrible's and that is THEIR policy. The cashier DOES NOT just ask because they feel like irritating YOU! They are at risk of losing their jobs as they are always on camera! So, instead of harassing people for doing their job, why don't you just shop elsewhere! Believe me, they won't miss your business!

TOPIC: Absurd Overdrafts

NAME: Mike

RANT: The other day I got a couple of under $10 transactions in my account, and then the bank gave me overdrafts of $400! I then got paid that night and now have $20 left. Then I got a penalty overdraft and when my account does not have enough for the penalty, they overdraft me again. I talked to the branch but they sent me around town talking to other banks, only to be treated rudely and like a nuisance. I’m a college kid who needs help with this.
