TOPIC: Trick or Treat

RANT: Remember Halloween? Remember dressing up in your favorite costume and going trick or treating with your friends and family? It was fun, because the ADULTS of YOUR childhood made sure NOT to forget about the kids. There’s no reason why you (and you know who you are) can’t give back what was given to you in your youth. It seems like all of the children who received Halloween in the past have refused as adults to give it back to the children of now. They've only grown up and held the whole thing hostage to their own adult agenda, parties, clubs, fetish balls, etc., only to leave the NEIGHBORhoods dark and abandoned on Halloween. Don’t be so selfish. Find a way for both, but by all means, stop cheating the kids -- SHAME ON YOU ALL! Don’t try to blame this on the economy. You've been doing this for years.


TOPIC: Ramp Meters

RANT: Could someone please let me know why the ramp meters leading from the Mandalay Bay onramp to the I-15 have suddenly been turned on? It now takes me an extra 15-20 minutes to wait for these lights. Meanwhile, traffic is backing up all the way down Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard while the traffic on I-15 is running smoothly. You first have to wait for the traffic signal that is at the top of the ramp to change, and then you have to wait again for the ramp meter light, which slowly lets one car go at a time. Please turn these stupid ramp meters OFF. They are causing more traffic problems, not easing the traffic flow. People want to get home from work as quickly as possible, not have to deal with this extra aggravation. What moron came up with the idea of onramp meters?


TOPIC: Police Response To Crime

RANT: On the evening of Nov. 1, I reported three people dumping trash near the place I work security. I told police the license plate (AFP7375 AZ) and described the red truck with a black stripe. I told the officer the gated community I followed them to and all she had to tell me was that I need to just call and tell the cops so they can catch them in the act. The next call, I tell her the location and that there is another dumping going on, and she tells me there is no record of my first call. In the time she asked all the questions, these people dumped and drove off. Then she tells me there are eight calls that are more important then this one in my area. Why do I bother reporting this when they don't do anything to stop it?

TOPIC: What Happened To Halloween?

RANT: Seriously, what happened to Halloween this year? No one decorated their houses in our neighborhood. So much so that people out trick or treating were taking pictures in front of our house which WAS decorated. Also, no one was home, there were WHOLE BLOCKS where no one was home! It was depressing for the kids who were out trick or treating. My daughter and I were done by 8 p.m. Normally, we are out until at least 10 p.m.! What gives, people? Where's your spirit? It might have something to do with the fact that retailers actually skipped the holiday for the most part and just went ahead and put out the Christmas stuff already. Honestly, was that necessary? Are they that desperate for sales?

RANT: Response To Kerry: since you have not been to the Hard Rock in a while, you will be happy to know that the NEW Rogue Joint just opened with a separate area to load and unload stage equipment. So, come on back. The parking is great, and we are ready for you to rock on! We aren't boot happy like (they are in the parking lot near) CVS. Peace and love!
