THE RANT

TOPIC: Metro & Seat Belts

NAME: Michael

RANT: We've suffered the loss of LVMPD Officer Milburn. We've grieved at his service. We've seen the results of the investigation. Seat belt or not, speeding or not, it is time to MOVE ON. We don't dictate Metro's policies. Constantly ranting over this is getting old. Two officers were lost and another faces a long rehabilitation. ENOUGH already -- Sheriff Gillespie is a capable sheriff and will handle it effectively.

TOPIC: Reid & Jobs

NAME: Edward

RANT: Is Harry Reid for real? The week Harry starts running TV ads for his alleged "saving" CityCenter and the corresponding jobs, the Las Vegas unemployment rate climbs to 13.9 percent. If Harry wants to claim ownership of the CityCenter jobs, he also needs to own the losses at Echelon, Fontainebleau, and the other abandoned steel skeletons in town. Harry is the best example for enacting term limits.

TOPIC: Mall Kiosks

NAME: Michelle

RANT: What is it about those kiosks that are in the center of our malls? It drives me crazy getting stopped every five feet from someone who wants to sell me a Sham-Wow! If we see something we like ... we will stop!

TOPIC: Rebels Football

NAME: Brian

RANT: I think we need to give Coach Sanford a little more time. The offense is doing its job for the most par t(28 pts/game). The defense is lacking and has been especially since Therrell took over the defensive coordinator reins. If anyone should go, it should be Therrell. It looks like he has the players but they are confused by the defensive/offensive schemes. This should be the defensive coordinator's responsibility.

TOPIC: Crosswalk Shortage

NAME: Patti

RANT: Another person lost their life tonight because of jaywalking. My heart goes out to her family. Have the city/county commissioners considered putting in more crosswalks? As sad as it is people are always going to take their chances and jaywalk because most people are not going to walk to a corner or stop light. So why not put crosswalks where people might be more inclined to use them? Think of the driver that hit the jaywalker having to live with this the rest of his/her life.
