THE RANT

TOPIC: Metro Speeding

NAME: Anonymous

RANT: I learned today that the Metro officers who crashed on Nellis Boulevard were not only not wearing their seat belts, but were traveling at 71 MPH! This is treated as a shock, just as it was when an officer was traveling 107 MPH on the west side. Metro has a number for us regular folks to call when we see Metro breaking the law. If I was to call each time I saw Metro breaking the law, I would spend all day on the phone. Everyone should face the facts. Metro does what they please, and they answer to no one. The sheriff needs to realize that cops are cops ... unaccountable.

TOPIC: Traffic Cops

NAME: Amy

RANT: The Traffic Cops in this city are ticket happy! I have had a perfect driving record for 24 years in CO. I come here and in less than a year I receive two tickets. This is total BS. I received a ticket today for running a red light on a turn signal -- problem is the light was never red. It wasn't even yellow when I started the turn. Yes it did turn yellow as I was turning, again NO red. Traffic cops in this city need to be more fair and accurate in their ticket writing. I know our city needs money, but really?

TOPIC: Police Lights

NAME: Tom

RANT: It's sad to see another officer killed in an auto accident, and the story today revolves around the effects to him. But the question should be why was he speeding and driving with no lights? Because THAT's the issue that endangers everyone else!

TOPIC: Unemployment Benefits

NAME: Donna

RANT: Please tell us something about the emergency unemployment benefits we were told would be coming. It would be great to listen to the sales and the people going places for entertainment -- I would love to get excited about these things if I knew my utilities were going to be paid and the roof was going to stay over my family. After job hunting everyday with no results it is so depressing to not hear anything that was previously promised to all of us who are losing hope.

TOPIC: Passing Lanes

NAME: Ken

RANT: All you uneducated drivers on U.S. 95, the EXIT and CAR POOL lanes are not passing lanes! Those are SOLID lines. WAKE UP!
