THE RANT
TOPIC: Balloon Boy
NAME: Ashley
RANT: I cannot believe this! Is this what reality TV and 15 minutes of fame has turned people into? Endangering the safety of our children, scaring the world half to death? Yuck! Poor Falcon Heene was made sick to his stomach from the lies they forced down his throat. I agree, Falcon, it is disgusting.
TOPIC: The Strip a Scenic Byway?
NAME: Michael
RANT: Sounds great! But why is this “Scenic Byway” from Washington to Sahara? Shouldn't it be Washington to Russell? You're leaving out the best part of the Strip ... what gives? Scenic Byways in other areas of the country are 15-80 miles long, yet we get 5 miles ... seems odd.
TOPIC: Police and Speeding
NAME: Steve
RANT: To the caller who said that “not every call requires lights and sirens,” I beg to differ. Any, and I mean ANY time a police car exceeds the legal speed limit, it should have at least its lights on. This is a common sense alert to other law-abiding citizens that there is a hazard approaching, thus giving them the chance of pulling over and getting out of their way. If this procedure isn’t followed, who is really at fault?
TOPIC: Health Care Bill
NAME: Joy
RANT: There is a little-known section of Medicaid that forces each individual state to place a lien on the insured's personal and real property and forces states to collect on bills following the insured's death. Forcing 18 percent of the people in this country to sign up for this is cruel. That is the government's calculation of how many people will qualify for Medicaid. Most of the collected amount comes from homes.
TOPIC: Nobel Peace Prize
NAME: James
RANT: I decided to do some research on the Nobel Peace Prize to see what all the fuss was about. First, all of you critics sound a lot like Kanye West. This man is our president and represents the U.S. If he is nominated and wins the prize, we/you should be proud as Americans. Evidently he did something right. Otherwise this would not be a discussion. So people, stop with the jealousy!
