Man killed in shooting near Eastern, Owens identified

Medical examiners identified a 25-year-old man killed in a shooting Wednesday morning in Las Vegas.

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, Thomas Romero died from multiple gunshot wounds. The manner was ruled a homicide. 

Las Vegas Metro police said the incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Eastern Avenue, near Owens Avenue.

Arriving officers said they found Romero suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest, police said.  

Police said the suspect was seen in a black truck with black rims. He was described as a heavy-set Hispanic man.

A suspect later died after an officer-involved shooting. Another suspect was injured and taken to University Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound.
