LAS VEGAS (FOX5/AP) -

The agency responsible for promoting Las Vegas says 311,000 people are expected to visit the destination during Super Bowl weekend.

Data released Friday by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority show that's an increase of 2,000 visitors compared to last year.

The New England Patriots are the favorite once again in this city's sports books to win the Super Bowl Sunday in Minneapolis.

Sportsbook operators are predicting this year's game will set new betting records, continuing a trend that saw last year's game take in a record $138.5 million in legal bets.

Local bars are looking forward to celebrating with their regular fans and visitors in town for the big game.

Patriots bar Three Angry Wives is hoping to celebrate another win with New England fans, manager Regi Reynolds says the Super Bowl has become one of their biggest days of their year, next to St. Patrick's Day.

"We are constantly striving to make this the best Patriot's bar in the valley. You'll find myself, my brother, my brother-in-law all behind the bar we are all Patriots fans, not only do we host the fans we are fans," he said.

Over at Torrey Pines Pub, the staff is excited to celebrate the Super Bowl with dedicated Eagles fans.

"We're getting everything ready that we can. We've got the fight song ready to go over the speakers just to lead the crowd, we've got a pregame video going, we're getting our kitchen ready, we know we're going to get hit for all the Philly cheese steaks we can make," said manager, Dylan Hightower.

The LVCVA says the Super Bowl is worth an estimated $410.1 million to Las Vegas.

Ninety-one percent of the destination's nearly 149,000 rooms are expected to be booked for the weekend.
