Mugshots released in connection with possible cockfighting ring in northeast Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5/AP) -

Metro Police said officers investigated a possible cockfighting ring near Lamb and Lake Mead Boulevards Sunday morning.

Police were called to the 4700 block of Judson Avenue at around 10:28 a.m. Officers requested assistance from animal cruelty detectives. Authorities said 40 people scrambled out of the home when officers arrived.

Metro said the investigation is ongoing and did not confirm how many animals were found at the scene, however 440 roosters were seized by animal control and taken to the Animal Foundation. An additional 20 roosters were found dead at the scene.  

Four suspects were arrested in connection with the cockfighting. Angel Ancala-Sanchez Sr. for one count involved in fights between animals, Angel Ancala-Sanchez Jr. for one count involved in fights between animals, Pablo Castellanos for 19 counts of willful or malicious torture, maim and/or killing of an animal and Erasmo Fallad for one count involved in fights between animals.
