LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police dealt with an unusual situation Thursday morning that involved a standoff with an armed man on a roof of a home in west Las Vegas.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Roland Wiley Road, near Durango and Westcliff Drives, on a domestic call during the overnight hours before midnight on Wednesday.

Metro said the original domestic situation escalated to a burglary call and then a barricade incident involving SWAT officers.

A man armed himself with a knife after entering a residence and refused to cooperate with arriving officers while on the roof of a home, according to police.

Eventually, SWAT officers were able to make contact with the man and he was taken into custody at about 3:15 a.m.

Authorities did not release any immediate details on what caused the original incident call.

No injuries were reported by police.
