More than a dozen rescued Pomeranians are gearing up to meet their new owners.

“Pucks and Paws” will be taking over the City National Arena on Monday morning where the Vegas Golden Knights team will share its practice space with dogs looking for forever homes.

“Pomeranians are hard to find,” said Kim Frank, Golden Knights VP of marketing. “There’s so many of them and when we had that opportunity we were like 'bring them out, they’re so fuzzy and cute.'”

Over 160 Pomeranians were rescued from an illegal breeder. They were abandoned in a U-Haul truck without any food or water. That’s why team officials decided to help them out.

"We wanted to be out there with the community and build all sorts of different relationships,” Frank said. “We saw the opportunity to see these lovable dogs, and have some fun with them, and invite them out to City National and thought it was a great fit."

On Monday, 15 of the dogs will be up for grabs. Five of the dogs will be placed in a live auction after practice that players will help facilitate.

The Vegas Golden Knights Foundation will contribute funds to allow anyone over 18 years old the opportunity to adopt one of the 10 additional dogs as well.

“You can come out, you can touch them,” Frank said. “The Animal Foundation is going to talk to different people and once someone is deemed a suitable home, you might be able to take it home tomorrow.”

The practice kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and doors open at 11 a.m.

The dogs will come spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
