Police: Drug deal probed after shooting injures man on Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police said one person was shot on the Las Vegas Strip Tuesday morning. 

Officers responded to the incident at 6:29 a.m. near the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard, near Tropicana Avenue. 

According to police, two people were involved in a "transaction or altercation" for about 20 minutes. The incident escalated and one man was shot. 

Police believe the incident was a "drug deal gone bad."

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said. His injuries are not life-threatening. 

A suspect has not been taken into custody, police said. 

An investigation is ongoing.
