North Las Vegas police make arrest in homicide case

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting in North Las Vegas.

Detectives were called to investigate a person shot in the stomach at about 11:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Reseda Circle, near Pecos Road and North Las Vegas Boulevard, Friday. 

Officers located a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound at that location.

Medical personnel transported him to the hospital, but he was later pronounced deceased according to police.

North Las Vegas police said the victim was with Mauricio Miranda, 25, just before the shooting and the incident was first reported as an accident.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives said they determined that the shooting was indeed a homicide situation.

NLVPD then booked Miranda at the Las Vegas City Detention Center. He is facing a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.
