GILBERT, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A Gilbert BMX volunteer has been arrested on six counts of alleged child molestation and nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor. There are reportedly multiple young victims in this case, according to police.

Randall McCamman, 42, a well-known volunteer BMX trainer in the east Valley, was arrested Friday, September 8 at his home in Gilbert.

Police began their investigation in November 2016, when a mother reported that her 14-year-old son had allegedly been molested by McCamman, a family friend and the boy's BMX volunteer trainer. The mother said that her husband had seen a sexually explicit text on their son's phone.

It was later learned that McCamman had allegedly been molesting the boy for the past two years, according to court documents.

Later in the investigation, Gilbert police located other alleged victims, both boys and girls, ranging in age from 5 to 17 years old.

"In total, we know of five victims, who were juveniles at the time of the offenses, from incidents happening between 2001-2016," reads a statement from Sgt. Darrell Krueger with the Gilbert Police Department.

Upon his arrest, McCamman "denied any inappropriate relations," according to the police report.

He is being held on a $250,000 bond. He is due back in court Sept. 14.

The track director at Chandler BMX said McCamman was a part-time volunteer at the track.

The organization released the following statement:

"Chandler BMX will fully cooperate with law enforcement officials during the investigation regarding the accusations on Randall McCamman, a part-time volunteer at Chandler BMX. We have always put safety first and this will continue to be our number one priority."

McCamman is also a former volunteer at MISSION Community Church in Gilbert.

On Wednesday, the church released this statement:

On May 4th, MISSION Community Church received an anonymous phone call from an individual who wanted to make them aware of an ongoing police investigation involving one of their volunteers, Randy McCamman, for alleged child molestation that occurred unrelated to his volunteer role at the church. MISSION leadership met with Mr. McCamman the next morning and suspended his volunteer serving opportunities pending the outcome of the investigation. That same day, MISSION leadership met with all the parents of youth who may have had contact with Mr. McCamman and advised them of the ongoing investigation.

Since that time, the Director of Safety and Security, Mark Fritts, has worked closely with Gilbert Police Department who have advised him that none of the alleged victims are students or children that currently attend MISSION Community Church.

MISSION Community Church has a rigorous process to become a volunteer in the youth ministry. That process includes an application, interview, training specific to appropriate conduct with a minor and a signed document outlining expectations as it relates to personal conduct. The final portion of the vetting process is the background check. Since 2013, MISSION has completed five background checks on Mr. McCamman and none have revealed any information that would exclude Mr. McCamman from serving as a volunteer.

Church leadership will continue to cooperate fully with the Gilbert Police Department in their investigation.

Gilbert police say they are looking for information about the case and any other potential victims.

If you have any information, you're asked to contact the case detective, R. Cornejo, at 480-635-7320. The Gilbert Police Department report numbers affiliated with these investigations are 12-000001869, 16-000019674, and 17-000002166.
