Delta flight makes emergency landing at McCarran due to engine fire

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Airport officials confirmed an engine fire caused Delta flight #1057 to make an emergency landing at McCarran International Airport shortly after takeoff early Wednesday morning.

The flight departed Las Vegas just after midnight at 12:07 a.m. headed to JFK Airport in New York. Less than 30 minutes later, an engine fire was reported on the aircraft and the pilot was forced to return to McCarran for an emergency landing, according to an airport spokesperson. 

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was unknown. The plane was scheduled to leave McCarran again at 6:55 a.m. to head to New York.
