It’s not every day video games save a man’s life, but for one lucky gamer, he has the Elder Scrolls series to thank.

The unnamed man in the video was playing games when he heard a pop sound and glass shatter. Confused, he searched around his room and discovered a bullet hole is in wall. But that’s not all.

He noticed his thick book “Elder Scrolls Anthology” was destroyed. Inside were the series’ disks, and the extended lore of the fantasy world created by Bethesda Game Studios published by Bethesda Softworks.

All the disks were shattered, but that’s when the gamer noticed something. The book changed the trajectory of the bullet. Had the bullet not pierced the book, it would have landed inside him instead.

Bethesda heard about the incident and sent him a signed replacement for his loss.

It just goes to show that sometimes, video games can be good for your health.
