(MEREDITH) – Don’t worry. This story ends happily, even though it starts off with a facial deformity, an animal shelter, and the euthanasia list.

Picasso is a loveable pooch, but had a tough time finding a family due to his facial deformity he was born with. His deformity has a sharp twist in his upper jaw and exposes several teeth and forces his nose to the right side of his face.

For a while, no one wanted to adopt Picasso, who was taken to the Porterville Animal Shelter in California and put on the euthanasia list. But he wasn’t alone. His brother Pablo was also brought to the shelter.

However, the Luvable Dog Rescue took both of them back to their facility in Oregon. The shelter’s director said she was looking for unique dogs or pets with special needs. She was introduced to Picasso (and Pablo too), and snatched them up as quickly as she could.

The two are inseparable and as of right now, are still looking for a home.
