LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A 37-year-old driver hospitalized with critical injuries after a crash in Sandy Valley died while in treatment.

Eliazar Torres-Perez was one of three people sent to the hospital on Nov. 15 after a crash on Sandy Valley Road, according to police.

Torres-Perez was behind the wheel of a Ford Windstar that lost control, police said. The westbound minivan veered into eastbound traffic, causing a Ford Explorer to hit the vehicle.

Police said Torres-Perez was not wearing a seatbelt. Police also found open alcohol containers in the minivan.

Torres-Perez was airlifted to University Medical Center, where he died on Nov. 25.

Two people inside the Ford Explorer were also taken to UMC for moderate injuries. They showed no signs of impairment, police said.

The incident marked the 106th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metro Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
