A Valley homeowner captured a violent robbery on his home surveillance video, and he believes it may be related to a prior home burglary.

Brett Palmer's west Las Vegas home was broken into the weekend of Nov.12. He said the thieves took computers, iPods, cash, and clothes while no one was home. Palmer reported the burglary to Las Vegas Metro police, and bought a multi-camera surveillance system the very same night.

On Sunday, Palmer believes the suspects came back to his home, this time for a violent robbery.

"(They) pointed it at him, the guy gave them his money, (they) hit him with the gun, ran away," Palmer said.

He doesn't know who the people involved were, or why they were outside his front door.

"I don't know the victim, I don't know the suspects, but it looks like a staged drugs deal," Palmer said.

Palmer has since turned the video over to police.

Public Information Officer Michael Rodriguez, of Metro, wants to know what the three men were doing there.

"It's very important that we identify that victim too. We want to know who they are, exactly what they were doing there in that location, what they had in their hands, and what they did directly afterwards, the suspects that is," Rodriguez said.

Palmer said he spoke to neighbors and found out there have been multiple other burglaries in the area. He also contacted the home owners associated about gating the storm drain areas from which the suspects may have come and hopes this video will help police make progress on this case.

"I hope it spurs the police to be a little more proactive," Palmer said.
