LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Two stretches of freeway in the Las Vegas Valley are expected to slow down drivers beginning Monday night.

If you plan to head toward downtown Las Vegas on southbound U.S. 95, you can expect a possible slow-down.

Nevada Department of Transportation said two right travel lanes on the southbound freeway between Rancho Drive and the Spaghetti Bowl interchange are scheduled for closure from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. The closures are in effect Monday and Tuesday.

The closures will make way for re-striping freeway lanes as part of the Interstate 15-widening Project Neon.

NDOT urged caution while traveling through the area.

U.S. 95 is not the only stretch of freeway due for construction work this week. Eastbound Interstate 215 is set to close beginning at 9 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday. The freeway closure stretches from the McCarran Airport Connector to Warm Springs Road.

Construction work continues for the I-215 toward McCarran.
