LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

An American Airlines flight landed safely early Monday morning at McCarran International Airport after experiencing engine trouble while en route.

American Airlines flight 1693 was heading to Las Vegas from Dallas, when it reported engine failure and requested an emergency landing in Albuquerque, N.M.

According to Albuquerque International Sunport the flight was able to land safely at about 9 p.m. Sunday, when losing one of its engines mid-air.

After a reported five hour delay at Sunport, the flight was then able to continue and arrived at McCarran at about 4 a.m.

Passengers told FOX5 upon departure the situation was scary, but the captain did a great job and no injuries were reported.
