LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Nevada’s only giraffe, “Ozzy Picasso,” needs help staying warm this winter after he outgrew his old home.

The two-year-old giraffe resides at the Lion Habitat Ranch with about fifty other animals.

The non-profit ranch is looking to raise approximately $20,000 for Ozzy.

“Who doesn’t want to help animals? Who doesn’t want to help these beautiful things, because they depend on us and they’re safe here, totally safe,” said Lawrence Pfiefer, of the Lion Habitat Ranch.

The money will go towards medical care, food and a new warm home for the giraffe.

Ozzy has grown five feet in the past year and is expected to grow to 18 feet tall within the next two years.

The ranch said with the community’s help the new home will last Ozzy a lifetime.

If you needed another reason to help Ozzy, the ranch said he is also the only giraffe in the area that knows how to paint.
