Cooking fire damages Las Vegas condo

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said a fire at a condo caused thousands of dollars in damage Saturday evening.

The incident occurred in the 5700 block of west Lake Mead Boulevard, near Jones Boulevard.

The department said crews responded to reports of a cooking fire that spread to the cabinets.

The occupants of the unit were able to safely evacuate, the department said. The Southern Nevada Red Cross is assisting three adults and one teenager impacted by the blaze.

The fire caused $50,000 worth of damage, the department said.
