Homeless woman struck by train in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A homeless woman hit by a train Thursday is expected to survive, according to Las Vegas Metro police. 

Police said the woman was struck while walking on a bridge over Owens Avenue, near Interstate 15 at about 3:22 p.m.

The woman was transported to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the woman is homeless and lives in the area.
