Man killed in shooting near Twain, Nellis identified

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police are investigating a homicide in east Las Vegas Tuesday night. 

Police responded to the 5100 block of East Twain Avenue just after 7 p.m., when receiving reports of shots fired in the area.

Arriving officers located a male victim laying in the street.

Police said witnesses rendered aid to the man by performing CPR, but the he was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Wednesday, the man was identified as 50-year-old Kevin Thomas by the Clark County Coroner's Office, with a cause of death pending. 

Witnesses told police that a dark sedan was seen leaving the area, but authorities have not released any further information.

The shooting remains under investigation according to Metro.
