The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said 299,000 visitors are expected to celebrate Thanksgiving in the area.

Last year, approximately 297,000 spent the holiday from Nov. 24 through Nov. 26 in Las Vegas, LVCVA reported. The number of tourists visiting the area is expected to grow by 0.7 percent this year.

Visitors are projected to spend $201.1 million which is a 0.4 percent increase from last year, LVCVA estimated.

The total number of hotel rooms also grew approximately 0.2 percent to keep up with the growing number of visitors.
