NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A North Las Vegas man claimed his girlfriend came home with a gun the night she was shot and killed, but police said his story doesn’t add up.

According to the arrest report, McCray told dispatchers his girlfriend, Washington, came home with a gun, he took it away and ended up shooting her in the head.

McCray claimed Washington became physically aggressive toward him and pulled out the weapon. He said the gun discharged while they were wrestling for it.

However, detectives said there were several aspects of his story that were not plausible because of inconsistencies with McCray’s story and evidence from the scene.

McCray was booked into the Las Vegas City Detention Center for murder with a deadly weapon, police said.
